Well, if we needed justification for abandoning the previous unheated guesthouse it arrived in the night in the form of snow. By morning it had mostly turned to slush but the shikaras and their boatmen have disappeared. Of course, the heating here only comes on in the evening but housekeeping have supplied a very dodgy looking one bar electric heater which means that at least we can dry the socks – or we could have if the electricity hadn’t gone off within ten minutes of it being supplied.
It’s been that sort of a day.
